The Measure is a feature film based on the life of John Dabney, a remarkable figure in my own family history whose story of resilience, mastery, and sacrifice deserves to be seen on a larger scale. Set against the upheaval of slavery and the Civil War, the film is a character-driven historical drama about family, dignity, and the making of a legacy.
